Set up organization
Organizations in Polars Cloud are the top-level entity and typically represent a company. They can have members, contain multiple workspaces and are used to manage billing.
When you create your account, Polars Cloud creates an organization called
<first name>'s organization with a workspace called My workspace for you, so you can start
running queries right away. Before you invite your team, the dashboard asks you to give the
workspace a name of its own; invitees see it in their invitation email. Rename the organization from
Organization → Settings.
Organization names are not unique. If you are a member of several organizations that share a name,
refer to them by ID in the Python client (pc.Organization(id=...)) or rename one of them.
To set up an additional organization you can either use the dashboard or the following CLI command:
pc organization setup
To add a workspace to it, use pc workspace create (see the CLI reference) or the
dashboard.
For other subcommands you can execute the help command:
pc organization --help
usage: pc organization [-h] [-v] [-t TOKEN] [-p TOKEN_PATH] {list,setup,delete,details} ...
positional arguments:
{list,setup,delete,details}
list List all active organizations
setup Set up an organization
delete Delete an organization
details Print the details of an organization
